IRS is delighted to support our client, who operates in the renewable energy sector and is located in the Wallsend area. Currently, they are seeking a Transport and Planning Manager to contribute to their long-term projects.
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000pa, subject to experience.
The Role:
- Assumes primary responsibility for overseeing the planning and production capacity of all projects, including keeping standardised documents up to date.
- The T&P Manager is responsible for rolling out a uniform planning system within the various production units.
- Key responsibilities include assessing risks, reporting outcomes, and managing the transport team for load-in and load-out operations.
- The T&P Manager is responsible for the overall planning coordination at the site.
- The T&P Manager leads the supervisor of lifting equipment for the follow-up of the inspections, purchase and most efficient use of lifting equipment.
- Implements a standardised planning system across multiple production units.
- Establish a consistent system for monitoring production and project status.
- Conducts weekly analysis of production status.
- Manages the transport team, which includes crawler cranes, tower cranes, mobile cranes, etc.
- Maintains an overview of loading and unloading operations for various ships.
- Maintains close communication with the maritime manager and suppliers.
- Leads the supervision of lifting equipment, including inspections, procurement, and optimal usage.
Person Specification:
- Holds a Master's degree or possesses equivalent experience.
- Has received a minimum level of safety training.
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of various European standards (Eurocode, NBN, NEN, DIN), British Standard, ASM, etc.
- Familiarity with machinery and its impact on the cost of steel structures (Lowest End Cost).
- Familiarity with UK regulations (LOLER, PUWER, HSWA) and international standards and codes related to lifting, hoisting operations, and lifting equipment. Demonstrable ability to communicate these requirements to supervision and rigging team members.
- Extensive experience and proven competence in planning, risk assessment, and safe implementation of lift plans.
- Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with (Enterprise Resource Planning) ERP and planning systems.
