Description

Fantastic new permanent opportunity for a Production Manager to start ASAP for our client based in Lowestoft! The hours for this role will be; Monday - Thursday 08.30hrs-17.30hrs / Friday 08.30hrs-12.30hrs.

The job purpose of being a Production Manager..
To effectively manage the site Planning and Production teams to meet site requirements and achieve KPI's. Assist the Site Manager to further develop site culture and Leadership focus.

You will be required to…
* Oversee production planning by managing the team to ensure the requirements of customers are met.
* Oversee departmental production by managing the team to ensure the requirements of the production plan are achieved.
* Ensure product is made to the correct methods, technical specifications and standards.
* Manage a safe working environment by ensuring that Health & Safety requirements identified are addressed in a timely manner.
* Ensure that good industrial relations are maintained.

& Not forgetting to…
Develop the team and individuals to improve performance by:
* Identifying the development needs of the team and individuals (giving people the opportunity to help identify their own development needs and those of the team).
* Planning the development of the team (ensuring the plans are timely and contain clear, relevant and realistic development objectives in line with individual and organisational standards, values and philosophy);
* Maintain effective communications throughout; both internally and externally, at all levels of the business.
* Work closely with the engineering department, ensure that engineering and maintenance regimes are effectively organised and managed to ensure minimal downtime and are cost efficient.
* To initiate, actively participate, manage and support initiatives to improve areas such as production efficiency, health & safety and engineering in order to achieve or exceed the site objectives.

Technical Requirements Needed;
* Demonstrated experience of managing in a high quality, multi-SKU manufacturing environment.
* Product and process knowledge.
* Lean Manufacturing knowledge and experience.
